Terms and conditions
Keep it simple. Keep it honest.
What this is about
These are the basic rules for using oriri - our showcase site (oriri.food) and our digital platform for gastronomic businesses at app.oriri.food. We are oriri BV, a Belgian company with a passion for food and the stories behind it.
By using our services, you agree to these rules. We have kept them as simple as possible, because nobody likes complicated legal stuff.
What we do
Our showcase site: We share stories about restaurants, producers, ingredients and culinary traditions. Everything comes from authentic experiences - we are completely independent.
Our platform: We have built a place where gastronomic businesses can share their values and stories, show connections with suppliers and partners, display their Instagram photos, and be discovered by food lovers. We promote everyone who is passionate about food. No preferences, no rating system, no paid ads, no star ratings. Just good, honest food content.
Free versus Premium
- Free: create your business profile, share your story and get discovered
- Premium: Extra features to make your profile stand out (separate subscription terms apply)
What we ask of you
When you visit: Browse and enjoy. That's it.
When you register a business: Be accurate: use correct information about your actual business. Be authorised: You must have the right to represent the business. Be responsible: keep your login secure - you are responsible for your account. Be original: create only one account per business.
When you post content: Own it: only upload content you have the rights to use. Keep it clean: no offensive, illegal or harmful content. Be honest: don't mislead people about your business. Respect others: don't infringe anyone's intellectual property.
Always: Be respectful: don't try to break our website or scrape our data. Be honest: don't abuse our services or create fake accounts. Be legal: follow all applicable laws.
Your content, our platform
You keep ownership: Everything you upload (photos, text, stories) remains yours. But by posting it, you give us full permission to display it on our platform, include it in our gastronomic community and use it for marketing to promote our community and platform.
We protect our work: These things belong to oriri: The design and user interface of our platform; How we organise and connect information; The relationships and connections we display; Our algorithms and methods; The oriri name and logo; Our original content and stories. You may not copy, scrape or reproduce our platform. If you want to share something, link back to us with proper attribution.
Instagram photos
If you connect Instagram: We download your public photos (with your consent during registration); We keep your 12 most recent; We refresh them weekly; They are stored securely on AWS.
Website scanning
With your consent, our "Business API Bot" may scan your website to complete your profile.
AI assistance
We use AI (OpenAI and Anthropic) to help you write better content. Important: AI only makes suggestions - you control and approve everything; You are responsible for all published content.
The honest truth about our service
We do our best, but: No guarantees: We cannot guarantee 100% uptime or perfect service. Best effort: We operate on a 'best effort' basis. Your responsibility: You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of your content. Limited liability: We are not liable for business losses or damage. Service as is: the platform is provided "as is" without warranties.
We are a small team committed to supporting the gastronomic community. We are not a giant tech company with unlimited resources.

If something goes wrong
Let's talk first before calling in the lawyers. Email us at hello@oriri.food and we will try to resolve it in a reasonable way. If we really can't agree, the Belgian courts in Brussels will have jurisdiction (but seriously, let's talk first).
Changes
We may update these terms as we grow. We will inform you of significant changes by posting on our platform and emailing registered users.
The legal details
Belgian law applies. We are a Belgian company and we are proud of it. We may suspend accounts that breach these rules or harm our community. You may not transfer your account without asking us first. If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in force.
